It’s one of the things I loved in this book. He and Vanessa quickly becomes friends and I absolutely adored their friendship. I loved Aiden’s flatmate Zac who’s also a football player. The secondary characters were also pretty good. I quite enjoyed their clashes and the banters.

The romance between them was very very much a slow burn. He doesn’t acknowledge her importance until she quits. He’s quite an ass and a jerk towards Vanessa at the beginning. Aiden is a broody and aloof character who has trust issues. Vanessa is a strong character who’s independent, sweet, and caring. This book has two main characters Vanessa, and Aiden. Vanessa can’t believe that the great Aiden Graves wants her back but this time he asks for something impossible that will change her fate. After having enough of him, she finally decides to quit, and months later she finds the star player on the footsteps of her dingy apartment. For two years, she worked as his house keeper and assistant but he never felt the need to greet her or congratulate her on her birthdays. The story follows Vanessa Mazur who worked as an assistant to a broody star football player Aiden Graves.

Anyways, the reason I still gave it a four stars because I absolutely loved the characters and their slow burn relationship. It’s your typical sports romance novel and it’s not that hard to predict the entire story. It honestly could’ve been finished in less than 400 pages. It’s my first Mariana Zapata book and I wanted to give it a five star but damn this book dragged on so many scenes. Well, this book was so much fun to read but I hated its huge length. I’m not really into Sports romance, but I finally decided to give this a shot after a lot of people recommended it to me because I love slow burn romances.
